PRIX DU JURY MUFF 18 | MUFF 18 JURY PRIZES
MUFF 17 & 18 mai / May, 2024

We have decided to award the Jury Prize to the film Bha iad Làn Sgeulachdan (They Were Full of Tales) by Todd Fraser for the importance it places on promoting a threatened language and culture through the collection and presentation of a personal story and place. By using Super 8 to create this delicate and intimate portrait, Fraser invites us to consider the transmission and precariousness of a certain knowledge, both vis-à-vis a medium and a precious culture. |

We decided to give a special mention to the film Pixels of the Orient by Warren Chan for the questions of representation that Chan raises. The clever redeployment of images, the glitch, and the skillful editing invite us to critically reflect on the exotic iconography and representation of East Asia by the West. |
