MUFF 19 Jury: Benjamin R. Taylor & Steve Wood
BENJAMIN R. TAYLOR est un artiste indépendant dont les œuvres ont été diffusées dans des festivals et cinémas internationaux. Il est également commissaire, programmateur et animateur de films indépendant. Il est le fondateur et animateur de VISIONS, une série de programmes indépendants mettant en valeur des artistes de cinéma expérimental et documentaire. Il est cofondateur et responsable de la lumière collective, un microcinéma et atelier d'artiste à Montréal, Québec, Canada.
BENJAMIN R. TAYLOR is an independent artist with work exhibited in international festivals and cinemas. He is also an independent film curator, programmer and facilitator. He is the founder and facilitator of VISIONS, an independent curatorial series that foregrounds artists working in experimental and documentary cinema. He is a cofounder and caretaker of la lumière collective, a microcinema and artist studio in Montréal, Québec, Canada. |
Élevé sur PBS, MTV et les dessins animés du samedi matin, STEVE WOOD a été exposé très tôt aux possibilités de l'animation expérimentale pour les capacités d'attention limitées. Il a obtenu une maîtrise en arts des télécommunications à l'Université du Michigan et a travaillé en postproduction depuis 30 ans comme monteur, compositeur et coloriste à Chicago, Los Angeles et New York, tout en réalisant ses propres courts métrages et clips musicaux. Ses films explorent les thèmes de la musique visuelle, du surréalisme et de l'expérimentation à la croisée des technologies anciennes et modernes. Son travail a été diffusé aux États-Unis, au Canada et en Europe, et exposé au musée ACMI de Melbourne (avec autorisation du Center for Visual Music). Raised on PBS, MTV, and Saturday morning cartoons, STEVE WOOD was exposed at an early age to the possibilities of experimental animation for short attention spans. He completed his MA in Telecommunication Arts at The University of Michigan, and has worked in post-production for 30 years as an editor, compositor, and colorist in Chicago, Los Angeles and New York, while making short films and music videos of his own. His films explore themes of visual music, surrealism, and experimentation at the intersection of vintage and modern technologies. His work has screened in the US, Canada, and Europe, and has been featured in the ACMI Museum in Melbourne (courtesy Center for Visual Music).
